From the Farm to the Factory: The Highland Story
Highland’s journey didn’t start in a boardroom—it started in the fields.
In 1985, we were Highland Nursery & Evergreen, a dedicated Christmas tree farm. Like any grower, we faced a frustrating problem: there simply wasn't an affordable, reliable way to tag trees with essential grower and pricing information.
Instead of settling for what was available, we built our own solution. We engineered a specialized printing press capable of producing customized, successively numbered, and perforated tags. It was a breakthrough in efficiency that the industry had been waiting for. Almost overnight, our "nursery project" became the national industry standard for Christmas tree production.
Evolution Through Innovation
The success of our tree tags opened new doors. To maintain the high quality our customers expected, we expanded into in-house material production. This leap in capability allowed us to branch out into the industrial and safety sectors, leading to the creation of our now-signature custom barricade tapes.
As our capabilities grew, so did our identity. We evolved from Highland Nursery & Evergreen to Highland Company, and eventually Highland Company LLC. In 2021, we reached our current milestone, reorganizing our resources and decades of expertise into Highland Converting LLC.

Today, Highland Converting stands as a testament to American innovation. From our roots in the soil to our modern conversion facility, our mission has remained unchanged for over 40 years: providing businesses, industries, and growers with high-quality, high-reliability products through cutting-edge technology.
Whether it’s a single roll of tape or a massive industrial conversion project, we bring the same commitment to quality that we did to our very first tree tag back in '85.
