Tell-Tails™ Flagging Tags

TellTails™ flagging tags are an accurate and inexpensive tool you can use for counting your trees and other products in the field.  The perforations allow for easy tear-off while the tags are easily tied onto your product.  TellTails™ are available with an extra perforated tear-off section commonly used as a ticket.  Customers can take the removable section to a cashier to scan rather than carrying the tree or bush through a checkout line.

All of our products are manufactured in our own shop using only USA-made materials.  Our plastics are created to withstand harsh outdoor conditions and resist fading, stretching, ripping, or cracking even in temperature extremes.

(First-time custom designs require us to create custom printing plates. Existing printing plates with standard species names and sizes are available at no additional cost. Please see our list of house plates included in the website's menu for visual examples.)

(Black ink is included in the base price. UPCs must be printed in black ink)
(Common uses for this option include removing the tear-off section to bring to a cashier instead of removing the whole tag or carrying the whole bush or tree through a checkout line. Our customers typically include a UPC, species name, or numbering in the tear-off section. Our art department will assist you with the design.)
(Please be sure you have selected "Yes" in the numbering option above. Standard numbering = 250- or 200-1. The first tag off the roll is the high number and descends sequentially. If non-standard numbering is preferred, please describe the sequence in the additional notes section below.)
Watch out! Some size labels are very similar!
Please include any additional notes about your intended design including PMS ink colors, numbering preferences, tear-off design, etc. Our art team will send you proofs of the design for first-time orders.

New orders:

After you have given your final approval to print and paid for the order, we'll schedule your items for production.  Once on the schedule, your items will be printed and shipped to your desired location normally within 5 - 7 business days.

Film Colors

  • All of our film colors are available in medium-duty thickness (2-mil)
  • Film colors available in heavy-duty thickness (4-mil):

  • Film colors available in tough-duty (3-mil):
    • Yellow

Ink Colors

Not all ink color/film color combinations work.

Colored ink works best on white film.

If your chosen combination is something we know to be problematic, we'll contact you directly to discuss options.  Black ink works on all film colors (except black!) and is included in the base pricing.  White and colored inks include a small additional cost reflected under the "Options" subtotal.

Film Duty

Plastic film thickness is measured in mils, or 1/1000ths of an inch

  • Medium-duty film (2-mil) is suitable for all indoor applications and the most common outdoor applications.
  • Heavy-duty film (4-mil) is appropriate for very long spans, unforgiving outdoor environments like high-wind areas, or for extended use (>1 year).

Printing Plate Size

Size selection should depend on how much text and artwork is intended to be printed.  There is no hard and fast rule.  19-inch plates are popular because they work for most applications.  If you want your images/text to appear extra large, a 38-inch plate may be better.

Before we print your order, you will receive a proof to review.  If the proof doesn't jibe well with you, ask us to see it sized differently.  There are no fees and no obligations to re-work the design for you until it's exactly what you want.

Uploaded artwork:

Our team will use any graphics you upload to design a proof and send it to you for review.  The simplest and best graphic files to upload are vector art files.  This is an illustration that shows what it looks like when we zoom in on different file types.  

Most graphics pulled from the web are in raster form.  

Vector graphic formats that are common include .svg, .wmf, .eps, .pdf, .cdr, or .ai.

We understand not everyone has vector art available.  We can work with whatever you have.  We'll put together a model design for you to see.  If you're not happy with the design, we'll rework it until it's just right.
